I'm Maire Bain. I created Blue Butterfly Interior Design to support and guide property owners through all aspects of a new build or renovation process.
As an Interior Designer, I provide independent advice and have the knowledge and tools to show you what you can achieve with your property and help you accomplish it.
Maybe you're kicking around some floor plan options or wondering how your home would look and function with some alterations?
From personalised 3D plans to moodboards, co-ordinating tradies to sourcing the perfect products at trade discount, my advice and involvement will help keep your project exciting, on-track and as stress free for you as possible.
My role is to understand what you want, come up with an awesome solution, and help make it happen.
I work with clients in the Horowhenua, Kapiti Coast and Manawatu regions, and would love the opportunity to have a chat with you about your project and how I can help you.
Whatever stage you may be at with your project, I can give you the help needed to move you to the next step. My valuable knowledge and guidance will ensure you feel informed and in control of the many decisions a build or renovation demands.
Because each project is unique, I offer a free onsite consultation where we can chat about your ideas and inspirations. It's during this visit I can get a clear idea of your needs, and will recommend and quote on the service most beneficial to you.
Here are some examples of the services I offer. Please click the link to send me an email and let's discuss how each service could help your project.
SOFT FURNISHINGS & WALLPAPER
Providing the perfect solution for your new build or renovation windows and walls that delivers the look and functionality you are after.
Through me, you'll have access to NZ and international fabrics and wallpapers not seen in the retail shops. My local curtain manufacturer and upholsterer ensure prompt installation, so you won't have to wait months for your turn in the curtain shop cue.
This is such a brilliant tool to really help understand the space you're creating and get a true feel of the flow of the home.
A personalised 3D version of your floorplan with to-scale furniture, colour and render choices, will give you confidence in your selections and layout decisions before building work begins.
A moodboard is an excellent point of reference that keeps your project and purchasing decisions on track. It provides a clear vision of the design and what the end result will be.
Your moodboard is inspired by your personal preferences, style and existing surroundings.
Whether it's for a one room freshen up or your home's whole exterior, a colour scheme that reflects your home's surroundings and possessions will always look right.
The trick is also understanding the impact of light on your chosen paint scheme and how the colours will react away from the artificial lights of the paint shop.
A personalised colour consult will consider your home's unique needs and design a colour scheme that complements and harmonises your home.
This service is great for those who are feeling uninspired walking around the same old shops!
Based on the agreed style and scope of your project, I will research and recommend products for your consideration. And if you like them, great! I can co-ordinate purchase and delivery for you.
As an Interior Designer, I have access to many trade only suppliers who stock vast ranges of beautiful things. I'm happy to pass my trade discount onto you, which can often make a huge difference to the budget.
The success of a project is dependent on effective clear communication and skilled workmanship.
By sourcing, briefing and co-ordinating the necessary tradespeople for you, everyone knows what they're doing, have what they need and are scheduled for the appropriate stage of the project.
This service can also be expanded to manage your project's budget.
“We were at a loss as to how to design our new kitchen. Maire has done a wonderful job of redesigning the space and making it functional and beautiful. We can't recommend her services highly enough."
