Mangaore ValleyKitchenRenovation

Transforming something very basic into a modern kitchen that blends beautifully into its bush surroundings

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Challenge

To reconsider the existing layout of the kitchen and create a plan that best utilises the space with maximum storage, seating and functional flow.

Solution

By reorienting the appliance related cabinetry to the longest wall, it was possible to install a narrow island with seating, and new relocated front door.

The original back door was crafted into a dutch door with the glass window showing the bush inspiration for the unique splashback, creating  the effect of cooking in the bush.

Maire has been my project manager and designer for my refurbished kitchen and was able to envisage a more creative and practical use of space than I ever would have.

Maire got a feel for my quirky personality and was quickly able to identify product choices and options that made decision making easy. I have a stressful and very busy job, so being able to delegate responsibility and have my views treated with respect was a big load off my shoulders.

The end result is pleasing on the eye, comfortable to work in, embraces my personality and encompasses my home’s natural surroundings.
